Dr. Sabrina Chiarella
Dr. Sabrina Chiarella completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Concordia University in Montréal, Québec. Her research was within the area of developmental psychology, examining prosocial behaviours, empathy, emotion understanding, and selective trust in infants and toddlers. She completed her pre-doctoral residency training with the London Health Sciences Centre Psychology Consortium, where she worked at the Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI), Victoria/Children’s Hospital and at University Hospital. She has had additional training at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, The Jewish General Hospital, as well as regional community settings. She conducts Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy on children, adolescents and adults and has proficiencies in a variety of additional evidence-based intervention techniques, including collaborative problem-solving, dialectic behavioural therapy, behavioural management training, and integrative methods. She has extensive training in working with anxiety and mood disorders, and has clinical interests that include trauma, parent-child relational difficulties, behavioural management, as well as ADHD/ADD, conduct problems, obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as range of co-morbid medical difficulties. Dr. Chiarella also works within the Community Services Team at Vanier Children’s Services and at the Child and Adolescent Day Treatment Program at Victoria/Children’s Hospital in London, Ontario. She is also able to provide therapeutic services in French and Italian.
