Dr. Vanessa Huyder
Dr. Huyder provides cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) to children, adolescents and adults. She has extensive training in working with children and adolescents presenting with anxiety, depression, and behavioural difficulties, as well as working with parents on behavioural strategies. She also has a special interest in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression and sleep difficulties.
Dr. Huyder obtained her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Waterloo where she conducted research on cognitive skills that aid children’s social development. During her graduate training she worked with children, adolescents and adults presenting with anxiety, mood, behavioural, and sleep issues at the Centre for Mental Health Research. She completed her last year of clinical training at the Children’s Hospital and the Child and Parent Resource Institute in London, Ontario, specializing in mood, anxiety and autism spectrum disorders. In addition to working at Archways, she currently holds a position as a School Psychologist at the Thames Valley District School Board.
