Clinical Psychologist – First Responder Program

Job Description:

Archways Centre for CBT is currently seeking a psychologist or psychological associate to join our team to work in our First Responder Program. Based in London (Ontario), we provide evidence-based cognitive and behavioural therapies for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other conditions related to trauma. We work with both uniformed and non-uniformed responders using a trauma-informed model to help them build resilience, cope with stressors, and foster post-traumatic growth. Our program is geared towards prevention and treatment of traumatic stress reactions, and includes the following services:

  • Clinical assessment and diagnosis
  • Individual therapy intervention
  • Prevention skills (6-week group)
  • Baseline assessments for new recruits
  • Community crisis response

Archways provides psychological services in-person (London, Ontario) and via virtual therapy (across Ontario) using a secure and confidential video-based platform. Successful applicants have the option of working remotely from home, but also the ability to provide in-person sessions in London. Successful applicants have full administrative support for billing, and communication with third party payors (e.g. WSIB, VAC).

Benefits of providing services at Archways include:

  • Collegial work environment
  • Flexibility in scheduling and vacation planning
  • Monthly first responder consultation group
  • Referral to and consultation with our in-house Psychiatrist
  • Full-time administrative support
  • Group therapy/workshop room
  • Complimentary membership to CACBT
  • Access to Archways Education Fund (up to $1,500 per year)
  • Reimbursement for first year of liability insurance (for new graduates)
  • Complimentary supervision for College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) requirements
  • Highly competitive remuneration

Applicants must be registered or eligible to register with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Sufficient training in evidence-based practices (e.g. CBT, MBCT, ACT, DBT) is necessary. As applicable, supervision is provided by Gita Canaran, M.A., C.Psych.

This is a sub-contract position (i.e. not salaried), with the expectation that the successful candidate provides 10-15 clinical hours per week. To express your interest, please get in touch below.
