Professional Summary

Jerrica works with uniformed first responders (police, firefighters, paramedics, & correctional officers) and military personelle to explore how working within military and paramilitary systems have affected their self-image. Working with this population has given her an in-depth understanding of the issues and concerns that are specific to these fields and their cultures. She believes a relational and trauma informed approach, in combination with evidence-based treatment methods, is crucial to providing treatment for stress, operational stress injuries, and traumatic experiences.

She believes that giving context to our most difficult life experiences requires a balance between being validated and being challenged. Trauma therapy is not easy, but it is definitely worthwhile. With both curiosity and compassion as the basis for a strong therapeutic relationship, she strongly believes in each individual's power to change themselves. She values direct communication, respect, and a little bit of banter! She frequently draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to address challenges such as anxiety, burnout, trauma, grief, compassion fatigue, and relationship difficulties. She has particular expertise in working with trauma and Posttraumatic Stress.

When she’s not working, Jerrica enjoys reformer pilates, hiking, baking, and painting with watercolour! She loves camping, travel, and animals (your fur babies are always welcome in my virtual sessions!).
